Impacts of development in a typical year such as 1 acre of land cleared for development produces 10 tons of eroded sediment and 1 acre of impervious cover produces 1 million gallons of runoff.

Provide opportunities for citizens to participate in the stormwater management program or other programs which improve water quality.

This objective is accomplished by:

The Ontario-Wayne Stormwater Coalition (OWSC) helps to organize community events and volunteer community cleanups throughout the year for the public to participate in. The OWSC MS4 Annual Report is available to the public for review/comment on the OWSC website (http://owsc.org/). Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans for local projects are also available for public review/comment at the designated MS4 offices.
