Urbanized area is a central place (or places) and the adjacent densely settled surrounding area that together have a minimum population of 50,000 and a minimum average population density of 1000 persons per square mile.

6. Stormwater Management for Municipal Operations

Objective:

Develop and implement a program that reduces or prevents pollutant runoff from municipal operations.

This objective is accomplished by:

The Ontario-Wayne Stormwater Coalition (OWSC) implements several Pollution Prevention / Good Housekeeping efforts throughout the year. The efforts include but are not limited to: road sweeping, catch basin inspection & cleaning, and inspecting & monitoring existing stormwater management practices (i.e. ponds). Each MS4 within the OWSC has adopted their own Stormwater Management Program Plan (SWMPP) and SWMPP training sessions which are held throughout the year for municipal staff to attend.
