Community:
Wayne County Highway Department maintains 405 miles of paved road for all towns and villages—nearly 94,000 residents. The Highway Department performs other duties which include: construction projects, culvert replacements, bridge rehabilitations, inspection and maintenance on bridges, striping and repaving road surfaces.

  • Highway Department holds an annual household hazardous waste drop-off event for residents.
  • Wayne County Highway Department has mapped all of its storm drain outfalls.
  • Wayne County Highway Department staff regularly attends training sessions provided by the Ontario-Wayne Stormwater Coalition or at New York State training events to ensure they are current with Stormwater Phase II regulations.
